Getting Started
How do I create an account?
- Click "Get Started" on the homepage
- Enter your email address
- Complete the onboarding process by adding your vehicle details
- Set up your password (minimum 10 characters with a number, letter, and special character)
- Verify your email address
How do I add my first vehicle?
During signup, you'll be guided through adding your first vehicle. You'll need:
- Year, make, and model
- Current mileage
- Fuel type (Gas, Hybrid, Electric, or Diesel)
- Optional: VIN, license plate, and color
Managing Your Vehicles
Can I track multiple vehicles?
Yes! You can add unlimited vehicles to your account. Go to Settings > Vehicles to add more vehicles.
How do I switch between vehicles?
Use the vehicle selector in the dashboard header to switch between your vehicles.
How do I update my vehicle's mileage?
Go to Settings > Vehicles, select your vehicle, and update the current mileage.
Maintenance Tasks
How do I add a maintenance task?
- Go to your Dashboard
- Click "Add New Task"
- Select the task type (oil change, tire rotation, etc.)
- Set the due date or mileage
- Add any notes or cost information
- Click "Add Task"
What task types are available?
FIXR supports common maintenance tasks including:
- Oil changes
- Tire rotations
- Brake inspections
- Battery replacements
- Air filter changes
- And many more
How do I mark a task as complete?
Click the task card and select "Mark as Complete". You can also add service details like cost, mechanic shop, and notes.
Can I delete a task?
Yes, open the task details and click "Delete Task". This action cannot be undone.
Reminders & Notifications
How do I set up email reminders?
Go to Settings > Notifications and enable:
- Task reminders (upcoming maintenance)
- Overdue alerts
- Weekly digest
When will I receive reminders?
You can customize reminder timing in your notification preferences. Choose from:
- 3 days before due
- 1 week before due
- 2 weeks before due
- 1 month before due
Can I snooze notifications?
Yes, you can snooze notifications directly from the email or dashboard.
Service Log
What is the Service Log?
The Service Log is a complete history of all maintenance performed on your vehicles. It includes:
- Service date
- Mileage at service
- Service type
- Cost
- Mechanic shop
- Notes
How do I add a past service record?
- Go to Service Log
- Click "Add Record"
- Fill in the service details
- Click "Save"
Can I export my service history?
Yes, click "Export" in the Service Log to download a CSV file of all your maintenance records.
Mechanic Finder
How does the Mechanic Finder work?
The Mechanic Finder uses Google Maps to show nearby auto repair shops. You can:
- Search by location
- View ratings and reviews
- Get directions
- Save preferred shops
How do I save a preferred shop?
Click on a shop in the Mechanic Finder and select "Save as Preferred Shop". You can manage saved shops in Settings.
Fixy AI Assistant
What is Fixy?
Fixy is your AI-powered mechanic assistant. Ask questions about:
- Car maintenance schedules
- Warning light meanings
- Repair costs
- DIY vs. professional service recommendations
How do I chat with Fixy?
Click the chat icon in the bottom right corner of your dashboard to start a conversation.
Is Fixy's advice reliable?
Fixy provides general guidance based on common automotive knowledge. For specific issues, always consult a certified mechanic.
Account Settings
How do I change my password?
Currently, you can reset your password by:
- Logging out
- Clicking "Forgot Password" on the login page
- Following the email reset instructions
How do I update my email address?
Go to Settings > Profile to update your email address.
Can I delete my account?
Contact us at [email protected] to request account deletion. This action is permanent.
Troubleshooting
I didn't receive a verification email
- Check your spam/junk folder
- Make sure you entered the correct email address
- Try requesting a new verification email
My reminders aren't working
- Check your notification preferences in Settings
- Make sure you've verified your email address
- Check your email spam folder
The app isn't loading properly
- Try refreshing your browser
- Clear your browser cache
- Try a different browser
- Make sure you have a stable internet connection
